The term covers a wide variety of transport mechanisms that allowed for swift communication and travel across the elven empire, both to many locations on Alusia, and a number of the Worlds of the Aether.
Many were damaged or destroyed in the elven civil war. Some have been repaired since that time, while others remain dormant, or have been claimed by others, or reclaimed by former owners.
Known Elven Ways include:
- Fast portals
- Slow portals
- Anchored ley lines
- Fast paths such as the water path from Terranova to the Elven Isles.
- Re-purposed fey roads or ghost roads.
- Other liminal-travel, fairy roads, corpse-ways, and ley paths
- Shadow and under-realm roads
