Yazmo's Orphanage
A converted warehouse on the fringe of the Docks Quarter of Old Seagate (#6) it was set up by a retiring adventurer called Yazmo in 784WK after generous donations by Von Kroft and an anonymous benefactor. Yazmo occasionally solicits for donations and volunteer workers at Guild Meetings.
- Wilkinson has worked at the orphanage since 786WK.
- Rahne has been a major sponsor since 816wk.
- Mortimer donated an enormous magical cooking pot in 822wk.
- D'Artagnan donated a number of musical instruments and provided training in 824.
Yazmo's Aims
Yazmo, an earth mage, has concentrated on three aims:
- Provide to all children: food, healing, and a clean comfortable bed. (No meat is served apart from eggs and fish)
- Attempt to find gainful employment for older children (10 to 15 years), eventually leading to an apprenticeship. The orphanage also supplies 'runners' for the delivery of messages around the town. (Certain establishments are no longer delivered to.)
- Take small groups on wilderness trips to a forest camp northeast of Stonesboro, in order to give the children knowledge and respect for nature.
Yazmo's Orphanage Youth Orchestra
Formed in the Winter of 824 as a creative outlet and practical occupational training for the musically inclined, D'Artagnan has been providing training and conducting the fledgling YOYO ensemble as they enchant crowds in Old and New Seagate.
Pipe & Drum Band
A separate pipe and drum group dedicated to Caledonian music was also formed after the anonymous donation of a dozen sets of bagpipes.
Special
Cauldron, 10-Person
Thick walled Orichalcum cauldron large enough to fit 10 people (standing up). It is indestructible by normal means and incredibly heavy at 2,500 lbs.
It will heat/cool contents on command and maintain the desired temperature (10-110 degrees C).
Once per day you can trigger its cleaning cycle; over 10 minutes it heats the inside until all flammable content is incinerated, ash and similar residue is mysteriously gone, inflammable content will be very hot and clean.
