The Arms of the Western Kingdom have changed over time.

Emblazon Period Notes Blazon
[No pic yet] Pre-Kingdom to Early Old Kingdom Arms of Ulric the Wolf, under which his armies invaded from the north and the defacto arms of the Old Kingdom from its founding in 1200 AP until his death in 64 WK. After Ulric's death, Magnus Ulrich, his grandson decided that the Kingdom should have its own arms, and selected the Eagle as the symbol of the the realm.
Arms of the Old Western Kingdom Old Kingdom Earlier versions of the Old Kingdom arms have the eagle wings inverted (pointing down) rather than displayed (pointing up). This changed around the 230's in the reign of Isabel de Bowcourt. The reasons are unclear, but some heralds have suggested that as the displayed variant is more common in Elven heraldry, Bowcourts strong elven influences may have lead to tha alteration. Sable, an eagle Or. (Later Heralds would revise the blazon to "Sable, an eagle displayed wings inverted Or.")
Arms of Aquila Interregnum With the fall of the Western Kingdom after 494, the dispossed heir, Frederick Albert, now styled Duke of Aquila, retained the Old Kingdom arms for his Duchy, but changed the field from black to red. It has been suggested that this was an act of mourning, but seems unlikely given the colour choice. Gules, an eagle displayed Or.
Arms of the New Western Kingdom New Kingdom Submitted to the College of Heralds in 793, but not finally accepted and registered until 804, this new coat represents the personal arms of Ulric Schwarzrotgold, and the arms of the restored Kingdom. Paly of three sable and gules, a two headed eagle displayed Or.
