The Festival of Purple is also known as the Purple feet time, 'The Stomping' and many other names which are less well known but all relate to the same event.

- Description of the event: This social and economic event is held throughout the winemaking areas of Alusia. The exact start date and length of the festival varies from region to region and according to size of the vineyards etc. The local populace all participate in the task of 'Stomping' or crushing the grapes and the creation of raw grape juice for the Vintners to ferment and create the years vintage of wine.
In Borderlay this festival starts in the villages once the grapes have been picked and is an occasion of great joy as it represents a time of 'closure' for the years vintages and provides a backdrop for the Titling day which follows at the end of the festival.
