As we have rationalised the calendar, why not switch to metric and decimalise our coinage as well?

4 roods to an acre.

40 perches to a rood.

272. 25 Square feet to a perch.

10,890 Square feet to a rood.

43,560 Square feet to an acre.

I'd second that although there are some who would prefer to keep the historical feel and stick to Imperial. Although there's no reason that one of the other races, such as the elves, have rationalised their weights and measures. For instance, in my games, there's the "elven yard" which is roughtly three inches longer than the standard yard as well as the "elven mile" which is roughly 5/8th the length of a standard mile"

You two can stop that right now....

Down with decimalisation!

But we have Guineas and no Pounds to make sense of them. Axis 17:50, 30 Nov 2006 (NZDT)

But....but.....[Insert Martins excellent argument that I cannot recall very well]. Case closed. --Mandos 06:27, 1 Dec 2006 (NZDT)

Layout

Yikes, what a horrible thing to lay out well in a Wiki. At least it doesn't change. How about a 3 or 4 column (each column having Name, weight, price) table in each category?

Keeping it all on one page is probably best (despite the size), makes it easier to search for an item.

--Errol 11:23, 30 Nov 2006 (NZDT)

If no one else minds, I'll have a look at it. I've also got other DQ price lists for other stuff which I'd like to add, probably in a different colour so they can be distinguished from the 'official' entries.

I thought about a single column but it looks too skinny. 2 Column looked better, three might be too many.

--Mandos 16:54, 30 Nov 2006 (NZDT)

Three col looks OK to me (looked on 1024 and 1280px wide), would be better with wgt and price right-justified IMO.

Armour OK on own page, as rather specific (so easy search doesn't apply as much) and uses a lot of vertical space??

--Errol 17:59, 30 Nov 2006 (NZDT)

FYI, the new 3 column layout is too wide for my 1024 setup (different font is wider?)

--Errol 13:50, 11 Dec 2006 (NZDT)

Yeah the font squares up and becomes wider. Time for a screen with a decent resolution :-)

I will drop it back to 2 column.

--Mandos 14:29, 11 Dec 2006 (NZDT)

It's well past that time, but my employers think different. _My_ laptop is 1280 x 800 :-)

--Errol 15:35, 11 Dec 2006 (NZDT)

Is there a reason why we continue to have the fixed-width formatting? It should be easy to convert these lists into Wiki tables. Also, is there a 'protocol' for adding new items, and agreeing weights and costs, or can I just add stuff, and wait for someone to object on grounds of genre, availability, cost or weight?
