Factions
This is a working document to help explore the idea of introducing a formal structure for documenting how characters have influenced people and groups of people in the world (Factions).
Contributions are welcome, comments and discussions are taking place on the DQ email group or can be added to the Talk page.

In the campaign characters have different relationships with organisations, groups, and individuals.
Here is a simple system for keeping track of this between differently GM'ed games.
Value | Type | Effect |
---|---|---|
300 | Allied | Will assist the person as best they can. |
200 | Friendly | Will assist where they can at no cost. |
100 | Amicable | Will work with the person. |
0 | Neutral | Will help but will require a small of payment, if there is no expectation of loss. |
-100 | Unfriendly | Unlikely to help them. May work against them, if there is no expectation of loss |
-200 | Hostile | Will work against them. |
-300 | Enemy | Will attack, if they can. |
Characters using it
Some characters are using this system in the hope that it will easily assist GMs in running games, which have greater continuity between then. It is of course not binding on any GM and you should not feel forced into using it if you do not wish too.
