Earth Nexus

The Nexus World of Earth is a cold and dark world that is always under a clear cold winter night sky with no stars.

The ground is muddy under foot, the only indigenous life is small mould like plants of no value. The ground is mostly flat and it seems to head off in all directions as far as the eye can see. The only feature that seems to last are the large almost solid blocks of earth that dot the landscape. At any one time there are normally a few hundred blocks in view.

These are the tailings of the tunnelling spells that have gone off on many different worlds. They come and go from time to time at a slower than would be expected rate taking between 5 to 15 seconds to become fully solid and real and will occasionally push a person aside or crush any buildings or structures. Most of the time the blocks have roots and other debris from tree and plant life that have an aura that could be DA'ed. There is almost always at least one block from the plane of Alusia.

World Rules

  • It is a High Mana area for Earth Mages, (one less fatigue to cast) but not a Place of Power. For other mages it is normal Mana levels.
  • Pacifistic Earth mages gain a bonus of twice their Magic Resistance while in the Nexus.
  • Time runs at a normal one to one when compared to other worlds.
  • There is no North Point for Rangers.
  • Flying doesn't work in the Nexus.
  • Air Mages take 8 points of damages per pulse damage (save Vs. Earth Special for half).

Places

There are no lasting landmarks.

People

The plane is inhospitable and uninhabited, encounters with anyone would be extremely rare. Creatures of Earth may travel to or through this plane but none have been observed to date.

Braegon
Braegon has the ability to enter and leave this plane via Tunneling tailings.

Focus of Access to the Nexus of Worldly Travel

This focus allows Braegon to create an opening to the nexus to travel between worlds and Planes that have earth magic's in common with each other.

This is done by Braegon using a small focus that allows him to use his tunnelling spell to gain access to the Nexus world of Earth.

The Focus

This set of nine precious rocks are each about the size of a walnut. When in use they orbit his head at a slow rate in a strange patten that to on-lookers seems as if it should mean something, but not what it should mean. Like a word on the tip of your tongue. The rocks when in motion orbiting Braegon can only be removed by him. The rocks each have a different colour; Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Black, Translucent, Blood Red, Snow White, and Orange.

Moving from World to world

Moving to the Nexus happens when Braegon has the focus out and is inside a tunnelled out area (from a Tunneling spell) and duration ends or stops. All the entities within the area (of the tunnelling spell) will be moved with Braegon to the "Nexus world of Earth" if they chose not to resist an Earth Special Magic. When they arrive, just after leaving the real world, all are covered in a very thin crust of stone and earth that crumbles to the ground as soon as they move.

Most of the time the blocks have roots and other debris from tree and plant life that have an aura that could be DA'ed. There is almost always at least one block from the plain of Alusia that Braegon can use to return to Alusia. Flying doesn't work in the Nexus. Air Mages take 8 points of damages per pulse damage (save Vs. Earth Special for half). Braegon could turn up anywhere up to hundreds of miles away from the last time.

Moving to a New World from the Nexus

Once the tailings (Blocks) are solid, Braegon can cast a Tunnelling Spell on them of lesser size and then a group can enter the Braegon made cave (inside the tailings) and then Counter Spell his Tunnelling Spell. This will mean that the group will be moved to the world where the block came from. Most of the time there will be an earth mage around somewhere, given that they had to cast a tunnelling spell. There is also no particular way of telling where a block will lead to on any given world.
