It looks like the two-handed casting gives a bonus to spell-casting for all spells of Rank/2. At EM 100, this is rather cheap. Certainly, everyone should get this to Rank 6 or 10. People sometimes rank spells just for the BC - in that situation, they should rank this talent to 20. Perhaps it could be modified to only apply for minute casting, so it can make non-critical or power-up spells safer, but not in combat, where the failure / backfire adds tension, and a guaranteed success is much more important. As a player, my reaction was "Where do you learn? Sign all my characters up", which indicates that its not quite ready for general distribution.

On the up-side, its a balancing factor against shield or sword-wielding fighter-mages & helps the wizard/staff archetype.

The assumption would be that a 100EM Talent will be taken to 20 as it is both cheap and quick to learn, like DA. Nice idea though. Mandos 18:26, 9 Nov 2006 (NZDT)

Yea, it is a rather fast boost for 100 EM, and I'm planning to take a look at how the characters I gave it to have ranked it & used it in a couple of years, and possibly make a change or two there. The purpose came exactly off your discussion of fighter/mage and staff/wizard archtypes, to provide a reason for people to be a wizard who doesn't use a sword or shield. It may prove that the fact it only applies in such specific circumstances means a lot of people don't use it since they like the shield defence or to have a prepared sword, so I'll welcome any feedback from GM's who have a player with it in one of their games with how much use it actually saw in combat. HI Bernard, I moved Storm to Port onto this page to avoid cluttering up the scribe notes page. Mandos 21:03, 10 Mar 2007 (NZDT)
