I think the number of additional worlds should remain stable at 6 -- people have tootled around out there in aether ships, and (supposedly) the ancient elves explored pretty thoroughly.

The 6 + sun + moon, and with Merlyn only sometimes visible was intended to give us a set basically like earth's western astrology / astronomy in the middle ages + a magical element.

Seems reasonable, and I'll go along with that - and thanks for filling in the details I didn't know about.

Incidently, here's the distance/period table for the heliocentric model where 1 AU is the distance form Alusia to the sun.
