Session 1
The Return Of The Shrooms
Night One: Mushrooms With Flatbread
The Party:

We are told that a guild members’ servant has grown some special mushrooms and is having some strange dreams about a man named ‘Booky Bob’. They show us a sketch of him… he seems… big and ugly… Like Koishi. They want us to go to the North Commons and take the shrooms, see what Booky Bob wants and how it relates to the shrooms. No one else has tried these mysterious shrooms…seems reasonable enough.

The next day we meet at the common. Vath asks what we want with our shrooms. I vote for flatbread (I gave most my breakfast to my raven, Echo… Storm says I shouldn’t but he likes it.).
We take the shrooms and start to feel woozy and dizzy and fun. As I steady, I see a ogre in front of me. He very rudely asks me “Who the fudge are you?” (He didn’t say fudge). He says he’s a drummer in the band… We’re at some kind of tavern called “The Cavern”.
There’s an orc lady called Lavinia he says we should talk to.
She takes us aside with her dire wolf friend. Lavinia says we’re in Big Smoke. She knows Booky Bob and what he may want. He has had contact with some fellow called the ‘Griffon rider’? Or the ‘Duke Of Thrones’? Anyway, this guy needs info and booky bob will pay us to get it. If we finish that then Lavinia may have jobs for us.
She says our resurrection vouchers offer us one free resurrection from Big Smoke healers and have no expiry. She gives us special dog tags so no one can own us… I hope mine counts for Echo too. She says when we're done we can either find her here or running the jail.
Booky Bob meets us at a table where me and Storm are drinking fun drinks that burn.
Mission: Booky Bob wants us to investigate that the throne guy thinks are pretending to be his followers, see who’s behind it and if/what demons are involved.
Payment: Cash, healing and special weapons.
Bob says we can impersonate anyone to get the job done except for the griffon guy. But he wants to make sure no one knows he’s onto them. We decide to have a look first before meeting him
Bob says to start looking near the Booze Barn but to avoid: Unworthy Aisle, the jungle and the royal palace. He gives us a stick matching one he as, that if we twist it, it will alert him so we can locate him
Vath requests a guide of the city so Bob calls for Smashit the goblin to take us to find somewhere to stay for the night.
Session 2
Night Two: The Borrowers
Smash-It takes us to stay somewhere around the Booze Barn.
As we walk I see guards above us and everyone seems to have an air of aggression.
We come to an apartment building. Some Orcs come outside, they seem fascinatingly angry. The more Vath talks to them, the angrier they got until they starting punching, Vath, Koishi and Yukov fight back… boys are so silly.
Storm grabs me by the hand and we bypass and go inside with Smash-It. He takes us to a room on the second floor and takes a key out of his… pocket… that he has… for some reason. He says he can be our guide tomorrow if we need. The others join us again saying they had a nice drink with the orcs that beat them up…. They’re so funny.
Storm sees there are many taverns near us so we come up with an elaborate ‘borrowing’ plan. YAY!
Our Plan:
Vath will; make Doc’s tricorn hat invisible (the one that makes orcs want to kick you like you’re a goblin) then use telekinesis to put it on someone’s head in the tavern across the street and while everyone is kicking them, the borrowers borrow.
Our Scheme Unfolds:
- Me and Storm innocently walk into the tavern, Yukov is there too.
- Koishi and Onyx pretend to be security (… maybe even taking entrance fees)
- A guy notices Storm and I and seems to suss out Storm as a person… he wisely leaves.
- Doc and Vath stay at our window as our fire support team.
- Vath picks a rowdy person and puts the hat on him.
- The whole tavern’s start to kick the guy while he fights back. Luckily Onyx and Koishi are able to resist the urge to join.
- Yukov and Storm start to borrow. And collect some loot, though Yukov gets hit.
- Me and Echo joyfully spectate… I love to watch Storm borrow
Suddenly a loud voice says something fierce… but calming. We flea. On the way back we see people on the sea wall, one with a spy glass and siege weapon pointed down the street.

Session 3
Night Three: Little Tony Points The Way
Koishi divinates the rings.
Skull Ring:
- Has hand of death in it.
- Bonus to investing necromantic spells in it.
Other Ring:
- Has fireball in it
- 50% discount to investing fireballs into it.
Koishi drew some pretty pictures on us that he can cast spells on later. I chose Smite.
Smash-It says that the group we’re looking for may have ‘nicked’ Healer’s Guild member or something.
We decide to ask around the Booze Barn to see if anyone knows anything. The Booze Barn is in a beautifully run-down and dirty area.
Things We learnt:
- A group used to be big round here but they disappeared a few months ago after a big fight where they killed some people.
- They were called the Griffon Riders.
- They wore green (hmm.. green on green, they’re so fun here!)
- We can find them around ‘Little Tony’s’ Bakery ‘the one with the stripy awnings’ (I wonder how many Little Tony’s there are)
- They might be on the top two floors of a building… and something about a giant wolf attack on a roof?
- Also about some fascinating ‘scene reconstruction’ guys… they make scenes with the people they’ve killed. The artistry in this place is fascinating.
We go to see Little Tony. He kindly feeds us. He says that he thinks they used to be a part of the old group but now they’re just tough guys. He says not to get involved but he would be more scared of the healers guild (People seem very nervous of this healers guild). When asked where to look he points at a building with a rather alarming brown stain on it and ropes hanging off the roof.
We decide to observe through the windows of that building by going to the roof of the building across the road. Yukov bribes our way up with very strong booze.
We see that the ropes look like they’re hanging directly over windows that are damaged so they might have been used for break-ins. We see Griffon banners so these are the right rooms. We spot about 4 orcs between two rooms, sleeping.
We scout the building till evening and see around 8 more, moderately heavily armoured orcs with goblins heading out. We don’t follow them but go in to their headquarters and gather information by whatever means necessary.
We head up the stairs towards the iron grate on the 10th floor that blocks the top stories.
On the way up, Yukov uses ‘detect undead’. It says that above us is 1 lesser undead and below us there are several greater undead.
Session 4
Night 4: Frankie And His Friends Go Down!
Marching Order:

At the iron grated gate, we see a goblin sleeping a little way up. Of course Yukov throws something at it. it pulls the finger in response which I think is hilarious. Koishi asks him to get someone to come talk to us. An orc who looks slightly drunk comes down. His name is Frankie and he says they do have work for us but it can wait till tomorrow (Orc time).
We decide to pretend to leave. Then break in and knock out the orcs (we will kill them somewhere else obviously), then we will come back tomorrow and pretend we’ve come for the work we were promised and have no idea of the break-in.
Doc and Koishi take some potions that will make them super strong but not fatal, so they will be in charge of fighting (with Yukov randomly sapping people because… he’s Yukov)
Koishi kicks in the gate (killing the goblin on the stairs), we head into the corridor. Koishi grabs two goblins and slams their heads together… they start leaking very interesting brain juices but don’t die. Koishi finds a room with orcs in and throws the goblins at one (interesting choice). Battle commences.
*Vigorous battle sounds*
Eventually all four orcs are knocked out (and the goblins).
We use creative means to get them to a neighbouring rooftop to interrogate and then potentially sell the bodies.

Session 5
Night 5: We Throw Micky Under The Bus
We decide to interrogate one of them and then make them bodies and hand them over to the rival gang. Vath slapped the random one awake.
Info We Got Out Of Him:
- Orc boss is called Billy Bob but he’s at the pub.
- They think they follow the Duke Of Thrones (he said the real name but I will not thanks very much)
- The Duke is giving them powers but he hasn’t got his yet. Mickey does.
- He said they believed it was the duke because he was riding a griffin when he found them… basically they’ve been tricked by Karay-Oaky
- He says he knows a possible namer merchant who he will believe if he confirms our suspicions.
The rival gang volunteer to kill and ‘drain’ the two orcs that aren’t useful to us… they say they drain the blood because they’re butchers not vampires (sorry Yukov).
We take the mage and the orc we questioned (Dave) to Arthur the merchant at the docs. On the way, Yukov buys a big basket to hold the sleeping Mickey the mage. We also buy sleeping potions.
We explain the situation to Arthur and he confirms our suspicions to Dave. He says Mickey has no powers but the bracelet he wears does.

Arthur’s Info On Karay-Oaky:
- Says he’s tried to ascend before which caused some trouble in Funky Town (ooh I hope we get to go there that sounds fun)
- Was associated with a bunch of musical acts that were popping up that were ‘specific and infuriating’… I mean that sounds delightful to me but sure
We sell our loot to the merchant.
Some Of The Loot We Got:
Spectral weapons, Some investeds., Mundane stuff and Mickey has an armour that looks like worthless leather but has magic
We ask Dave to help us so he can get back in the Duke’s good books and he agrees. We decide to take him and Mickey to the temple of the Duke to hand Mickey in.
We find the temple on Spirit St (there are also people fighting with snakes as weapons and though I would rather watch them, I stay on task)
We speak with the priest and explain the situation (throwing Mickey under the bus of course). He takes Mickey to a stone alter and decides to question him for an hour before deciding if we are needed further.
What we learn:
- Mickey did believe he was working for the Duke
- Even Billy Bob was possibly tricked
- They have a meeting place for if things went south. A bar in Funky Town called Little Roger’s Palace.
- There’s a place under the bar where they can hole up for up to a week.
- They lost a lot of members last year including an early leader, they’ve been holding a healer hostage and maybe were being targeted by the guild.
We ask if we can sell or trade the artefacts we looted that were linked to Karay-Oaky. In return they give us Zombie grenades (plus a ghoul one)
We plan that Dave will show up in a day or two to the hide out all beat up and he’ll say we rescued him so we can get more info (the priest says we will get extra compensation for doing so). But we will make sure the story is believable by getting Dave actually beat up.
We go to the apartment for the night.
Session 6
Night 6: We Become Actors
Dave heads to the bakery for his cover story and we follow later (Vath puts a tracking spell on him). While we’re in the bakery and Dave has left and is passing our apartment building we hear a kerfuffle. I pretend to be very shocked as we leave and see him being beat up. We pretend to save him and then loudly act like we’re meeting him for the first time (we are very talented).
He leads us to the ‘safe house’ in Funky Town. The building is full of scary people playing very fun looking games but Storm says I should stay with her. As we go through she borrows from some drunkards (200-300sp, rings, etc).
Dave takes us out back and knocks on a door. A mean looking orc answers and we explain that we are heroes who saved Dave’s life and that we want work. He invites us in and they take Dave away.
The orc says that he would like us to retrieve a magical artefact and that they will pay us with a bag of gems.
The Artefact:
- It’s under the cavern, further in past the pond of dirt and the candy forest.
- It’s a chalice of worship
- There should be a sacrificial dagger nearby
- If you sacrifice with the dagger and bleed into the chalice deliberately then magic happens.
- We will encounter a resistence, a goblin cult also wants it.
They give us directions and we head off.
Vath tracks the chalice with a spell but can’t seem to track the dagger. We head down some stairs and come to some stores.
We buy silvered weapons, etc.
Storm borrows as we buy.
Other purchases:
- Vath buys ‘light’ saber
- Storm buys a little deep pockets pouch.
- Yukov buys preservation juice.
Session 7
Night 7: Levitation Station
We notice someone is following us. We start making a plan and Onyx casts blending on Yukov and Storm but the guy passes us. Storm sees he has a very intriguing bag and she wants it so we manoeuvre it so that we’re back in front of him but Storm and Yukov are following him. Yukov closes in his rear hex and Storm goes for the bag.
We notice a big group of orcs stop and pay close attention. Storm grabs the bag and a big fight breaks out.
We stab and shoot and cast and Vath conveniently levitates a few of them. Yukov makes bone constructed spikes on between us and them to slow them down and we continue

Session 8
Night 8: Orc Kebabs
*More vigorous battle sounds mixed with the sounds of Vath making orc-kebabs*
We see a big troll and his friend approach. Eventually he crouches down and shoots the boss orc with a bolt. Vath loots the boss’ helmet.
Onyx DAs Helmet: Success

Vath questions one of the orcs he skewered:
- They’re ‘thugs’
- They wanted to make us their slaves… but they may have changed their minds.
Vath stabs him for calling him a slave too many times (which was kind of funny).
He questions the other:
- He surrenders immediately
- Says he doesn’t know who the boss’ boss is.
Me and Storm have a serious discussion and then decide that appropriate punishment for the levitated orcs is for Echo to poop on them… so he does.
Yukov makes a bone platform up to the dead boss to question him.
Session 9
Night 9: Land Shark?
Yukov bone constructs a platform to speak to dead.
Information we learnt about dead boss:
- He was working with the guy who followed us and no one told them to attack us.
- He knows what’s in the pouch that Storm borrowed. It’s not dangerous and others want it. It’s not being tracked.
- More will come looking for us.
- They were targeting us because of what they assumed were ‘counterfeit’ tokens (our dog tags that say we can’t be owned)
Storm looks in the pouch and there’s a potion bottle. We ask the guy who had it what it is
“It’s a healing position, you fuckhead”
It has a pictograph on it depicting someone coming back stronger. We find a second pouch with a shattered version of the potion inside.

We follow Vath’s tracking spell. We find a cavern with pretty yew trees but not much natural light. There are stalls and blacksmiths, etc. There are people selling interesting looking treasure maps, including one to where we are going.
Koishi buys a map to a sunken ship for 50sp
I watch Storm ‘borrow’ our relevant map (She’s so talented) then I see her drop a couple of coins for some reason. Just as I go to tell her, I see her whip around and steal a random dwarfs coin pouch… I’m not sure why but I see a goblin watching from the balcony and laughing.
There are people selling beasts of burden (Onyx buys a donkey) and goblins. Yukov says he buys a ‘cheap’ goblin to keep with him and one that can garden ‘delivered’ to our accomodation.
We sell our less interesting loot items.
We walk on to a cavern with less people. We heard an ominous noise. I draw my falchion. I send Echo to scout and he comes back and says that the ground is rippling up ahead. Storm sees a fin in the grass. Yukov makes a bone constructed raft that has runes on which Koishi interprets them to be talking about a black and white whale.
Koishi - ‘Ooh a zebra whale'
Yukov - ‘You mean an orca?'
This fin definitely looks more like a shark though.
Session 10
Night 10: Shark Bits
Yukov bone constructs some oars… They were bigger than expected. Storm puts some food on one and puts it in the ground. I see a ripple coming closer. A lot of us draw and prepare. It rises up at Storm and she fires three balls of lightning at it! It jostles the boat and me and storm grab on to each other to stay aboard. I look over and Doc has been knocked off. As Yukov pulls him aboard, we lose sight of the shark.
Eventually we see something about 100ft out. We row forward and then we hear the creepy music again. It comes closer. Vath casts levitate. The shark starts to rise out of the water over us. Me and Storm cast balls of lightning. Doc sends out a spectral warrior, Koishi does a strange manoeuvre that was somewhere between dodging out of the way and also scraping a weapon against the sharks underside… And Yukov projectiled some drugs into the sharks mouth… for some reason. The shark poofs into a chunky, pink mist.
We’ve all been knocked off the raft. Me and Yukov go around collecting shark bits (teeth, skin and meat).
We row away and Onyx looks back and says that the left over shark bits were sucked back into the ground.
We make it across and go forward on foot. We pass a group of orcs, ogres and goblins. We warn them about the sharks and they say to “Look out for the chicken”. CHICKEN?! I WILL look out for the chicken.. they say its 40-50ft and one of their party’s arms is detached from its body… But I still think it could be a friendly chicken.
We find a cavern that’s also a forest with strange sparkly light. We climb trees to camp. Yukov eats some of the drugged up shark meat and becomes… very awake and more annoying than usual.
We start watches.
