			We set off for the northern noble quarter, the location of the entry to the tombs where the mirror of memory was said to be located. Having dealt with what we believed were most of the forces remaining in the city we were perhaps somewhat lax in our security and ran into a raiding force.

			The first sign of this was an enormous cloud of Ravens that parted to reveal a balloon from which were dropping incendiary devices. Fire quickly caught in the northern area that was not yet under the city defences. Multiple small golems appeared in the streets, these exploded on contact or when attacked and we backed up into a ruined building to control access.

			Next from through the flames came three goblinoids in heavy leather plates and breathing apparatus carrying flame tubes and laying down gouts of fire. We were able to escape through the rear of the building and took to the air with Fizz flying through the balloon causing the crew to bail out.

			It became clear that this raid must have been summoned some time ago in order to reach the city and was probably triggered by the events in the cavern and the retreat of the remaining goblin forces in the city.
			===Mirror Take 2===
			On our next attempt to reach the caverns we succeeded and arrived at a large stone door that was opened by presenting our credentials his delegated representatives of the royal family.

			We made our way through a number of connected tombs, though tombs does not do them justice. These are gigantic halls each containing a dynasty and each exhibiting stylistic and cultural changes. There were a number of obstacles to overcome though some withdrew when presented with our credentials.

			In the final chamber the walls were covered in mirrors and there were seven pedestals. Six of these showed images of the past and the last one a vision of the future. We decided that the pedestals were designed to take objects and that we needed the five items of regalia so far collected.

			We left the tombs, returned to the library and gathered our acquisitions there and then flew to the elven camp. Few people were present; the bulk of the force apparently out goblin hunting.

			We retrieved the items and returned to the tombs. For a moment we thought there might have been something with us as we entered but it was nothing. Retracing our steps through the tombs we arrived back at the pedestals, placing one item upon each causing it to merge with an image of itself. When all others had been added, the mirror itself appeared.

			At this moment a creature of darkness dropped from above blinding us momentarily and heading through the mirror. We followed it into a simulacrum of the tomb we were in and after a difficult fight slew it and returned through the mirror. We gathered up all of the artefacts and headed back to the elven camp.
			===Kidnappings===
			On arrival we handed over the objects but discovered the camp in a furore. There had been fighting between and within mercenary groups and two of the royal family's daughters had been kidnapped, Leah apparently by halfling follower and Aurelia by three of her guards.

			Armed with wands that could dowse their location we set out after Leah, locating her comatose in a camp at the edge of the forest. Attacking the camp, we subdued demonic minions and retrieved the Princess, delivering her back to the camp.

			From there we flew up to the mountains of the goblins where Aurelia appeared to be. We located the general area and decided that the front entrance appeared guarded. We located a steam vent and navigating through this with some difficulty came out in a chemical production area above a hanger containing 6 airships.

			Grabbing up a goblin technician as a guide we made our way through the complex through enormous rooms dedicated to food production with a large population of goblinoids still going about their jobs but little in the way of defences.

			We spied a large number of red robed goblins who were being treated with much fear by the other goblins. A patrol led by a red goblin headed towards us and we decided to ambush them. The fight was quick and Nick animated the bodies and sent them off into the complex to hide.

			Returning to where we had seen the other red robes, they were gone and entering the next large room we encountered hurriedly assembling guards trying to equip their flame tubes. Haan mind controlled one of the guards having him fire on the others which resulted in a large explosion and set much of the barracks on fire.
			===Demon Summoning===
			Hurrying through into the next room we found ourselves in the entryway of an enormous cavern with a summoning ceremony in progress on the far side. A full two dozen red robed goblins were assembled in a circle of protection or around a triangle, and with one in the centre with a comatose elf on an altar. These were in turn screened by 10 orc guards armed with swords and shields.

			Hrothgar managed an excellent shot striking the high priest full on causing him to slump over the altar and preventing him from sacrificing the Princess.

			We engaged the orcs killing several before the rest broke and fled. Attacks against the goblins also proved effective though dangerous as it appeared all were acting on close kin death expected bonuses and they seriously wounded Mattin.

			Fizz using his lightning abilities to damage goblins taking damage himself from crossing protections and managed to disrupt the triangle. An avatar of Andras appeared along with two large bull-headed creatures that I surmised to be devils of some sort. The Marquis radiated discord and those near him reverted to atavistic behaviour and began attacking each other.

			A blood-soaked stalagmite anchoring one corner of the pentacle caught our eye and a salvo of grenadoes from Hrothgar’s golem destroyed this. Various protections failed at this point. With the circle broken many of the goblins fled and we dealt with several others. A few moments later Andras vanished taking with him his aura of discord. I managed to banish one of the devils while Fizz and Hrothgar took down the other.
			Several of the goblins did decide to attack me on the way out but after being disarmed they decided instead to run. We chased down many of the red robed coven at dispatched them though at least two escaped.
			===Finale===
			Retrieving the princess, we made our way out of the complex as quickly as possible, Nick having located both a selection of treasure and a lifting room that would rise to the surface and led into a cave with a mountain vista from which we could fly.

			We returned to the elven camp, returned the Princess to her family, and attended the subsequent coronation and Dramus’s renunciation of his claim to the throne.

			The royal family were grateful for our efforts and awarded us handsomely.

			We decided to next pursue the amulet.

			Having ascertained that the goblin forces in the city had been eliminated or at least reduced to a negligible level we journeyed through the city above ground while keeping a watch out.

			A flash of light was observed from a nearby ruined building and Mattin clambered up the side of it to investigate.
			Haan after casting ESP over the area including Mattin: I don’t detect any minds up there.

			====An Ex-Raven====
			Mattin discovered an odd patch of ash, with the GTN of Raven, and also declared that it tasted like chicken. Having joined him at the top of the building we investigated the patch of ash and discovered that it was the remains of a semi-sentient bird. Nick questioned the spirit of the bird and found that it was a servant of Andras the Marquis of Discord, that it has been observing us and that there were other birds reporting to the demon in the city, along with wolves.

			It was clear from the spirit raven’s answers that this was the demon who was aiding the goblins and had been keeping an eye on the city in recent years, presumably once the elves began to return. Now that city defences were coming back online these minions were beginning to get a warm welcome.
			====Invasive Questioning====
			We continued to the cathedral a much more human like construction of stone and stained glass though with a tree growing up through the centre. The ground was no longer consecrated and there were signs of abandoned goblin habitation in the cathedral; it being one of the less damaged buildings in the city.

			Investigating the area, we discovered six pillars built into the walls topped by spaces where flames could be lit with a matching seventh behind the altar. We decided to light these and Hrothgar created a ladder.

			Each asked a question of the one lighting it and on what I believe to be an honest answer a coloured flame arose. If the question could not be answered there was a crack of power and the supplicant was thrown back to the floor.

			Fitz failed his question as he was asked of the time when he had stayed his blade against one who justly deserved it but could not offer up an example, not through a want of mercy but through having never been in the situation. I climbed the same pillar, was asked the same questions, and declared “Baldr Highfastness”, and that I had stayed my hand as it would have caused a clan war.

			Nick: I’m worried about the tests.
			Hrothgar: Look, if Mattin can pass it…

			With all six flames burning we turned out attention to the seventh. Haan offered to try the question and a moment later disappeared. Guessing that this was part of the elven puzzle we each in turn completed the question. I found myself in a white room with the others. Fitz made use of his mirror that can see things that are invisible and discovered that between us stood a small plinth that held an amulet. He grasped this and we were all dismissed back to the cathedral.

			We set off for the hall of echoes a natural looking bowl-like amphitheatre and examined the area around the stage and its storage rooms. There was a long architrave installed behind the stage that initially appeared damaged but on further examination proved to have parts of Elven characters carved along its length which when carefully read created a poem puzzle which we then managed to tackle entirely back-to-front.

			In the end crystals fell from the architrave when certain musical notes were played and these same crystals needed to be placed in a specific order in sconces adjacent to the footlights at the front of the stage. When all of this was achieved correctly the Lyre appeared.

			We returned to the library with our acquisitions.

	We made our best efforts to release the goats, pigs, and rabbits in a way that would get them to the surface and outside of the city but in all cases the animals obeyed their natural instincts and scattered somewhat. I expect the city is going to have a large feral rabbit population from this point on. Work benches were set at a height appropriate to dwarves but the abandoned tools indicated a design for hands smaller even than a halfling lending credence to the idea that the goblins were responsible for the fine work. The door through which they and the two wounded orcs had escaped was well constructed and had slid down into place after their exit preventing pursuit. It reminded me more of a dwarf mine pressure door than something I would typically expect from orcs and goblins. 	One of the orcs managed to make it to the large and clearly heated forge that lay at the side of the room and opening the hood caused an enormous gout of flame to wash over Fitzroy, Mattin, and Athos, leaving Fitzroy incapacitated.
